I. Training Background

In recent years, with the continuous deepening of the reform in the engineering consulting industry, the full-process engineering consulting service model has increasingly become the mainstream of the consulting industry. As a brand-new service model, the whole-process engineering consulting has very high requirements for the capabilities of the consulting team, especially for the capabilities of the consulting project manager. On the other hand, relying on the company's favorable first-mover advantage and policy opportunities in the field of full-process engineering consulting, the full-process engineering consulting business has achieved breakthrough development. It was the first to introduce the full-process engineering consulting service model in provinces such as Zhejiang, Guangdong, Hubei, Anhui, Guangxi, and Fujian, and has undertaken a large number of key construction projects in various provinces and cities. The full-process engineering consulting business has become the company's new and most important main business segment, and the achievements of the enterprise's transformation and upgrading are becoming increasingly remarkable. The company has an increasing demand for outstanding consulting project managers.

In response to this, Jiangnan Management College has carefully analyzed the situation, closely followed the company's development strategy, innovated the content and model of its education, and aimed to cultivate elite consulting talents for the industry. It has held a consulting project manager training course, which is conducted in three phases. From November 22nd to 24th, the third season of the training camp and the final defense were successfully held at the company's headquarters. Nearly 50 technical management backbones from various projects of the company with good development potential participated in this season's training and comprehensively tested their comprehensive abilities and qualities through the final defense. Trainees who pass the comprehensive assessment or above will become reserve talents for the company's consulting project managers. They will have the opportunity to make more contributions to the company's development on a higher and larger platform, and at the same time achieve new glories in their personal careers.

Ii. Main Overview of This Season's Training

Yu Haibin, the BIM technology director of the company and the director of the BIM Technology Research Center, presented "BIM Management (Including Smart Construction Site Construction)" to the trainees. The training started with the implementation content of smart construction sites and systematically expounded on all aspects of construction supervision, ranging from personnel monitoring to environmental monitoring, from equipment detection to the monitoring of sub-projects and sub-sections with greater risks... ; On this basis, the research and development and application of the company's intelligent supervision system based on BIM technology were introduced, enabling the trainees to have a relatively systematic and intuitive understanding of smart construction sites, laying a good foundation for the future construction and intelligent supervision of smart construction sites.

Zheng Dawei, the deputy chief engineer of the company and the vice president of Jiangnan Management College, delivered a course on "Team Building". The course is based on practical cases of team building and is conducted in groups. It enables participants to discuss their understanding of team building from three aspects: team building skills, team motivation methods, and team innovation and development, based on their own experiences. It also points out the characteristics of high-performance teams and the ways and means to build them.

We invited Hong Wenming, a researcher from the Human Resources Research Center of Zhejiang University, to give a lecture on "Efficient Communication Skills". Starting from the basics of communication, Mr. Hong shared with the trainees from aspects such as the art of listening, multi-directional communication, and horizontal (cross-departmental) communication, and proposed that the essence of communication is sincerity, listening, and empathy. At the same time, in combination with the trainees' positions and the theory of management evolution, the skills of management communication were shared, which greatly benefited the trainees.

Jia Fuhui, the manager of the Enterprise Development Department, shared with the trainees the skills of official document writing based on his own work experience and the needs of the project department, with cases as the foundation. These included commonly used official documents such as project press releases, opening speeches, responses to owner letters, and application reports for extension fees. At the same time, he exchanged the layout skills of long documents and the key points of PPT production. Help the trainees improve their comprehensive qualities in terms of writing skills, PPT production and expression.

Iii. Graduation Defense

On November 24th, nearly 50 people were divided into six groups to conduct their graduation defense respectively. The defense review group was headed by the company's senior leaders. The trainees presented their graduation thesis summaries, training summaries and future development plans through PPTS. Based on the graduation thesis and training summary, the judges interact and communicate with the trainees, comprehensively assessing their qualities and abilities. The defense score serves as an important basis for evaluating the trainees' final grades.

After a tense and orderly defense, 11 trainees achieved good or above grades, while 9 trainees failed to meet their expected goals and need to take a make-up exam after digesting and absorbing the training content. The entire defense and review process fully demonstrated the rigorous, objective and pragmatic academic philosophy and working style of Jiangnan School of Management.

Iv. Expectations and Entrustment of Company Leaders

The Matthew effect in the future engineering consulting market, where the strong get stronger and the weak get weaker, will become increasingly evident. As an important reserve talent team of the company, one should be able to have a broad vision, have a comprehensive and clear understanding of the future development of the industry, have more expectations and higher requirements for oneself, establish a strong sense of crisis and urgency, and correctly recognize future challenges and opportunities.

Graduation is not the end but the beginning. Being recognized as excellent or qualified upon graduation does not mean one is competent for the position of project leader. The first batch of trainees were selected and strictly reviewed by the company through multiple rounds of screening. We can only make ourselves stronger and stronger so as not to be eliminated by The Times. Therefore, you should broaden your worldview, expand your vision and perspective, keep on learning persistently, and cultivate yourself into high-end talents and industry elites in the consulting field.

Secondly, it is important to attach importance to the accumulation in daily life, plan ahead and make early preparations for the future. Don't confine your personal vision and knowledge to a certain level of professional position. Instead, get in touch more and take the initiative to try out professional fields you are not familiar with. Raise your own standards and become a versatile technical management expert.

Third, strengthen self-management. Self-discipline is a crucial factor for a person's success.
