(1) Heighten the main river dam. On the basis of the original earth-rock structure, the dam will be heightened by adding a downstream attached slope, and a new connecting section will be built on the right bank. Jet grouting piles will be applied to reinforce the existing dam body prior to overlay construction. The original clay core sand shell dam will be reconstructed and expanded into a combined concrete face rockfill dam.

(2) Construct four new concrete auxiliary dams.

(3) Build a new spillway.

(4) Construct a new flood discharge tunnel, which is arranged on the left side of the spillway together with the diversion tunnel.

(5) Build new power water intake and water conveyance structures. The water intake adopts a tower-type multi-level structure, and the power house is designed as a surface-type building.

(6) Conduct demolition and reconstruction of the Yakengwu Flood Diversion Sluice.

(7) Construct new access roads to the main dam and connecting roads between the main dam and auxiliary dams.
