The full-process project management of the new campus construction project of Xilingol League Mongolian Middle School

The construction project of the new campus of Xilingol League Mongolian Middle School is carried out by Xilingol League Mongolian Middle School as the user and by Xilingol League Urban and Rural Investment and Development Construction Co., Ltd. as the construction agent. This project is one of the few Mongolian-Chinese joint schools in the autonomous region. It is a model full-boarding ordinary senior high school in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, designed with 60 teaching classes and capable of accommodating 2,400 students for boarding and study.


The company is entrusted by the project management agency to carry out the entire process of project management. At the very beginning of the project's establishment, the leaders of the league clearly required that BIM technology be used throughout the project, and the design should apply for a two-star green building evaluation. The quality goal is to "ensure the Grassland Cup and strive for the Luban Award". After our department moved into the Ximeng project, we actively responded to the requirements of the construction unit and strived to promote the application of BIM technology by all parties involved in the project. So far, BIM management work has mainly been carried out in the following aspects.


1. Coordinate the use of BIM technology in the design management process

During the discussion stage of the design plan, due to the school's requirements for the use of the Science and Art Building, the design intent expressed in the floor plan CAD of the building could not be well understood by the school. After coordination and communication between our department and the design unit, it was requested that the design unit make this single building into a BIM 3D animation for display. The school authorities were very satisfied with the display effect, recognized the design concept of the design unit, and quickly determined the design plan for this single building.


After the construction drawings are completed, review the BIM model of the design unit

After the construction drawing review was qualified, our department applied to the company's back-end to review the BIM model provided by the design unit and issue a review opinion. Subsequently, our department urged the design unit to modify the model in accordance with the review opinions.


Iii. During the contract management process, ensure that the participating construction units apply BIM technology

To ensure the full application of BIM technology throughout the entire process as much as possible, our department has made relevant agreements on the application of BIM technology in the signing of geological exploration, cost estimation, design and construction contracts. This is the first time that the geological exploration unit has applied BIM technology. However, as the Lizheng software used in geological exploration is not yet compatible with the modeling software used by the design unit, the application of the geological exploration 3D model has not yet been implemented. Our department requires the cost estimation unit to provide the bill of quantities calculation model after the construction bidding, creating conditions for the construction unit to create a 5D model in the future.


Fourth, in the process of coordination and management, efforts should be made to ensure that the design model can be effectively transmitted and utilized

In order to ensure the smooth transmission and effective utilization of the BIM model of the design unit, our department, drawing on previous management experience, requires the design unit to change its modeling approach and adopt a modeling method that is more suitable for the detailed design of the construction unit, striving to maximize the use of the design model by the construction unit. At present, the construction bidding for this project has been completed and the construction unit is about to enter the site. The two-star evaluation for green building design has passed the expert review and is about to enter the public announcement period.


The application of BIM technology by construction units after they enter the site will be the focus of future BIM management work. We hope that through our efforts, BIM technology can truly be implemented, play its role and create value.
